We are four European volunteers – living and working in Krakow, the cultural capital of Poland that we adore and enjoy. We are an independent theater group, based on the Teatr Wspólny directed by Paweł Grzesik, an experienced actor and director full of energy and ideas.
We consist out of four young persons from three different countries. There is the handsome guy from Georgia called Guram, who worked as a journalist in his home country and turned out to be amazingly funny and as well, a specialist of videos and communication. Moreover there is Elvi, a totally life-enjoying, energetic woman from Spain, ah sorry, Galicia, of course, whose passion is dancing and who has the funniest accent in the world when she tries to speak Polish. But that's for sure: Whatever she wants, she will get it. But - if you want to know which pub in Krakow is offering green beer or just which kind of travel is the best choice, there is only one person to ask: the third person in our team! Matti, our tall, Saxon guy who is accompanied by an extremely original humor and who has in the same time a very big heart. Left is Olivia, the youngest, and yes, obviously smallest quarter of our team: She is, no matter if she wants or not, responsible for the communication in our team; she leads through the jungle of different English accents and has the nickname “info point”. Always trying to smile (okay, we are not talking about mornings at this point), you can see her curly framed face somewhere in the center of Krakow, just getting some pasta in a shop.
Together, we have lived since October 2010, near to Wawel, next to the Vistula river. In the last months, we were leading international workshops, preparing activities for youngsters and finally: creating and playing a theatre play, referring to our migration experiences in Krakow – that is called (as you probably already know) ZAPIEKANKA.
One question left: Why Zapiekanka? Zapiekanka is something really Polish and to be honest, we really really like it!
